Description

Product Engineer - Direct Hire - Cumming, GA area

The Product Engineer will oversee all aspects of product support from “cradle to grave” working in a team environment.  Primary responsibility are products in the area of PLC-based motion control, ac servos, steppers, and encoders.  The Product Engineer is a cross functional servant leader and bridge builder working within the team, with other AutomationDirect.com teams and with our product suppliers.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Product evaluation and testing
  • Sourcing documentation or material for catalog, manuals, webinars, application notes/articles, example programs, etc.
  • Support for new product introductions
  • Backline support for internal technical customer support team
  • Technical product training for internal teams
  • Life-cycle projects to improve product quality or to lower product cost

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) and 7+ years Experience in the field
  • Experience with industrial control products such as HMIs, Remote I/O, and Variable Frequency Drives is desirable
  • Experience with agency approvals such as UL, CSA, RoHS, etc. and CAD such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. is desirable
