Machining Engineer – Direct Hire – Charlotte, NC area
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience working in a machining environment. 

Budgeted Salary – $65k-80k, depending on education, qualifications, and specific experience.

Summary:
The Machining Engineer be a part of the MFG Engineering team, working with machining cells, (okuma and mazak), will design fixtures, jigs, tools, and will contribute to any OPEx and CAPEx projects for the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate existing machining processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements. Using Kaizen tools/techniques, interact with shop floor personnel and other employees / departments to develop solutions to eliminate reoccurrence of problems, develop standardized work processes and drive continuous improvements to help the company meet Safety, Quality, Productivity and cost reduction goals.
  • Create CNC programs to establish efficient machining methods that will meet the product specifications and quality standards.
  • Create, maintain and control Process Documentation including PFMEA, standardize work sheets, tooling list, Operator Method Sheets (OMS), Regularly perform Process and Methods audits of machining processes to ensure compliance with approved standards.
  • Embark on Kaizen/Continuous Improvement projects as a normal portion of job duties.
  • Ensures Company 5-S Standards are observed in respect to assigned task and areas of responsibility. (Tooling, Fixtures, Equipment)
  • Design, development and implementation of assembly fixtures, tools, prototype model(s) (using Creo CAD software); procure tooling as needed. 
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering & 1+ year(s) experience OR
  • AS Degree and 3-8 years of experience
  • Experience working in metal fabrication, machining and/or automotive environment.
  • AutoCAD or 3D modeling capabilities – designing tooling, fixtures, jigs etc…
  • Experience with aluminum products would be a plus.
