Global Research Engineering Specialist

Waters Corporation is currently searching for a Mechanical Engineering Temp to join the Global Research organization. In this role, you will provide technical support to assist Research Engineers and Scientists involved in rapid prototyping of analytical instrumentation. Responsible for creating functional mechanical designs in broad applications ranging from fluidics to robotic mechanisms. You will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team whose role is to develop proof-of-concept prototype devices. These systems will be used to solve some of the worlds most intractable analytical problems, specifically in the fields of proteomics, metabolomics and natural products analysis. 


  • Work with scientists and engineers to understand performance characteristics and limits of new design concepts 

  • Brainstorm engineering solutions alongside team members 

  • Conceptualize, design, assemble, and test electro/mechanical prototypes to support technology development 

  • Provide technical analysis support and guidance to team members and other development groups to implement designs with proven feasibility while ensuring conformance to company and stakeholder requirements. 

  • Work independently or as part of a cross-functional team, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with superiors, peers, suppliers and customers 


  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) – Required 

  • Minimum of?2 Years of Experience in Related Field with BSME 

  • Ability to work in a hands-on environment 

  • Experience with SolidWorks 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment where project plans and priorities can change quickly
