Description

A fast-growing contract electronics manufacturer in the NW metro has an exciting opening on their team for a Product Continuation Engineer. This engineer will maintain existing design documentation to develop and implement component and assembly changes intended to improve product quality, component availability, manufacturing efficiencies and product cost. There will be close interface with test engineering personnel to determine appropriate verification and validation activities to prove effectiveness of design changes.  This position will interface with Air Agencies to assure that planned design changes will not adversely affect the airworthiness of articles, and will regularly communicate with internal and external customers to resolve issues during manufacturing and product use.
 

Job Responsibilities for the Product Continuation Engineer:

  • Performs engineering work, design analysis, development, and re-design for legacy products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met.
  • Supports engineering and fault isolation analysis of technical problems on the production lines related to product and internal components.
  • Participates in technical scoping and estimations for product enhancements to ensure new or re-designed product meets the required specifications.
  • Represents Licensing product on the Material Review Board
  • Analyzes and evaluates component obsolescence, and identifies new or improved alternate electronic component selection.
  • Work with supply chain to identify alternative parts that reduce product complexity and costs.
  • Completes drawing design documentation as required to facilitate the engineering process. Writes and implements Engineering Change Orders.
  • Confers with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on product issues and potential engineering product enhancements.
  • Generates, reviews and revises technical publications (Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Service Bulletins (SB), Service Information Letters (SIL))
  • Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal stakeholders on matters pertaining to Licensing product engineering activities.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing equipment, tooling, and procedures for Licensed product

Basic Qualifications of the Product Continuation Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an Aerospace Avionics, electronics or electro-mechanical organization
  • Track record of successful contributions to engineering projects
  • Digital / analog design experience. Includes circuit theory, instrumentation, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and microprocessor interface.
  • Solid understanding of relevant FAA Airworthiness regulations (14 CFR part 21).
  • Aerospace Development experience (DO-254 and or DO-160)
